Working with the Marsh Impact team
Our role is to take the communications burden off the trustee and their advisers, producing professional, compliant drafts that require minimal time to review and approve, freeing up the legal and actuarial advisers to focus on their core transaction roles.
We are experienced in working as part of multi-adviser teams on risk transfer transactions. We work closely with the scheme’s legal advisers to ensure that the required regulatory notices (Schedule 8 and Section 74 discharge notices) are fully reviewed before issue. We also liaise with the scheme actuary and administrator to ensure that benefit information and member data are accurately reflected in the communications.
Can the Marsh Impact team manage the data personalisation and delivery of the communications?
Yes, the team has extensive experience of working with data and by having the capabilities in-house it allows us to seamlessly link data and design together.
We collaborate with your administrators and the chosen insurer to ensure that we have the right data at the right time taking the burden off trustees.
How does the Marsh Impact team ensure the tone is right for our members?
Before drafting begins, we take time to understand your membership – their typical profile, their likely anxieties, and any specific circumstances that may shape how they receive the communications. We know from experience that the biggest member concerns in this type of situation are the unknown factors at play (moving to an insurer they may never have heard of) and the fear that benefits will change or reduce.
Our communications are designed to address those anxieties directly and early. Leading with reassurance, explaining what has happened in plain language, humanising the insurer, and being crystal clear about what (if anything) members need to do. We also ensure the trustees’ voice comes through – these are communications from trustees who care about their members, not corporate announcements.
What happens if things change while the transaction is in progress?
Risk transfer transactions can take time and circumstances can change. Our communications are built to accommodate this. We agree a review and approval process with the trustees at the outset, and we are responsive to changes as the transaction progresses. Any material changes to the package are handled through a straightforward revision process.
